Camp Cookin'
The Coleman stove being used to cook our breakfast is the very same one that traveled the country with the Hallin family for the past 30 years. It still works great and we've enjoyed some wild mushroom feasts, plenty of oatmeal, veggie skillets and pancakes.
The challenge is keeping the food cool enough during the day, it gets hot around here!
Apparently the Ozarks has had more than the usual spring rain and there is evidence everywhere of January's ice storm. Tree tops and limbs toppled and still hanging, mountains of brush yet to be cleared. The excessive rain has been a challenge for gardeners here. We found a farmer's market in Eureka Springs and were relieved to fill up on fresh greens and the season's first strawberries and tomatoes.
