Peace Pirate Vocab.
Here are a few words to add to your Peace Pirate Dictionary:
Wonky - adjective;
Wiggedy, waggedy, wobbly, used to describe something that is a bit whacked.
The wonky wheel on our tour van finally blew.
More commonly, we get the shopping cart with a wonky wheel.
Janky - adjective;
Messed up.
Often preceded by the words "full-on" or "totally"
Used to describe a piece of junk.
We've only used this tent twice and it's already a full-on janky @$$ not-so-EZup!
Snaggler - noun;
Someone who makes a greedy grab for snacks and then drops some of the over-abundant handful.
Don't be a snaggler!
Pansantbant - code word;
Can be used to tell someone that any article of their clothing is on backwards.
As in, "tag's in the front, ya got your pants on backwards."
Your shirt is pansantbant. If the pants are reversed, it's straight-up pansantbant.
Hork - verb;
An act of guerrilla gardening. To dig up a few native plants where there are plenty in order to transplant them into areas where there are none. Also used to describe the gathering of seeds in a similar fashion. Horking is done in places like ditches, vacant lots, agricultural borders, and sometimes parks (in the case of seeds).The first year in our new house, I dug up all the sod, horked a few grocery bags full of native wildflower seeds and spread them everywhere. Now our front yard is an oasis for song birds, butterflies, bees and other beneficial insects.
Renegade Spade - noun;
Tool of the trade for a peace pirate. The small, travel size hand trowel used for horking. Also used for mixing seed ball ingredients and planting vegetables. Can be used as a musical instrument and is considered a power symbol for the Good Food Revolution!
