Town Day
A 45 minute drive from Finca Fruicion to San Isidro on market day, Geoff, Chelsee, Sage, Indigo, Alana and I, said "fare-thee-well" to Danielle who was on her way north and eventually to Panama for a two year mission to help establish public water systems. (Danielle has a degree in civil engineering.)
Here we are at La Ceiba, the store Jason and Alana are establishing in San Isidro. La Ceiba tree is sacred to the Mayan - below is a mural on the store wall.
We went to el banco to cambio (exchange) dinero for colones. 1,000 colones is like 2 dollars. I like the transparent face on the one mil and the fish on the two.
We brought our colones to la ferria and purchased food for the week to carry back with us on the bus to San Agustine.
La Iglesia in the center of town has a picture of San Isidro (the patron saint of farming)

We walked around town and looked for a thrift store to get Indigo a new tank top. Here, they are called Ropa Americana because they get second hand clothes from the USA. In the picture below, we are walking past the main bus station.
Loaded with groceries, we crammed onto the hot bus to San Agustine

And views ON the bus
A classic Tico-style casa
This place is called Oasis - looked pretty dry and barren to me!
Another common sight - fence rows of madero negro

After a hot and sweaty hour on the bus, we hiked up to the farm
