Eagle meets Condor meets Bull
After most of the preparations had been completed for the first Water Woman Festival in Vilcabamba, Ecuador, I joined many of the artists and volunteers at El Toro Hotel where we stayed for the next handful of days. The faux rock walls and waterfalls elicited this sense that I had suddenly landed in Disney World! The Water Woman crew had a monopoly on the place and I enjoyed the sense of community that comes from sharing a home with people, greeting each other in the mornings with yoga and green super-food smiles. I got the feeling that the staff of El Toro felt like the circus had just rolled into town and took up residence there - in a way, it was true!
I shared the penthouse suite with two amazing sisters who were leading transformational workshops at the festival.
Water Woman Festival was also being documented by a crew of artists, led by Jeet-Kei Leung, as part of a series on Transformational Festivals. Here is a link to their kickstarter project, the video is projected to be released in November!
My roomies for the week.....Christabel Zamor offered Ceremony of the Heart Breathwork and Samantha Sweetwater offered Dancing Freedom. I will elaborate more on the festival schedule of ceremonies, performances, workshops, vendors and spontaneous magic in the next entry.
